Big Fat Failure: New Year’s Edition

Remember last week, when I told you about the hyper-sweet macadamia nut and almond butter I made?  And remember how I told you that it was so incredibly sweet that I could barely eat it?  I thought I took it in stride– I carefully packaged it up, tucked it in the fridge, and made plans to turn it into a batch of cookies.  Because when you fall off the horse, you get back on, right?  Especially when there’s a New Year’s Resolution on the line.

Well, what do you do when the cookies you try to make with the sugar bomb butter also fail?  And what do you do when you try to correct the issue with the cookies (they just keep spreading and flattening) by baking them in muffin tins, and that also fails?

And what do you do when your precious dog thoroughly wets the couch at the exact moment when the spreading cookie dough is juuuuuust about to drip off the side of the cookie sheet and onto the hot floor of the oven?

I’ll tell you what you do: you laugh.  Because that’s all you can do.  Because throwing a fit is a useless energy expenditure when there’s no one there to witness it except your dumb (precious) dog.  And you thank your lucky stars that you’re just dealing with a dog and not a house full of toddlers.

I’ll be back later in the week with a real post– that is, if I can successfully cook anything else over the course of the week.

Just kidding.

I’ll probably burn everything.

Just kidding!
